Shapeshift Forms: ethereal form; he turns translucent and ghostlike at will and can hold that form for a rather long time. He's able to hear and speak, but can't hurt, be hurt, or interact with the environment around him. It isn't stealth, either; his voice echoes and sometimes he rattles chains if he wants to scare teenagers away.

Other Noteworthy Information: he's the stereotypical NPC who sends players on weird quests to far off places for no good reason. He's the guy who has the only ingredient for granny's medicine but tells you to fetch him mushrooms from Zangarmarsh and not to "sneak in that shit from the Jade Forest, get the real deal from Outland." He also features more in my future Warcraft AU since he participates in the rebuilding of Kel'theril, which is currently a set of ruins - see below.

Reference Material: listening to "The Old Man Down the Road" by John Fogerty on a loop. Also, he's based on the fallen clergyman stereotype since Montanha has a great gift but is full of doubt. There's also an element of the old Y2K scare in there in the sense that he tries his best to be totally self sufficient in case a Fourth War happens or something like that.
Another character sheet using the template that :iconfeatherhowlart: designed so big thanks to her!

Mr. Montanha doesn't appear much in my stories for the next year or so, but has a role in my Warcraft future stories. Pretty much anything written more than a few years ahead of the current timeline is AU, and most of my future stories are written at least twenty years ahead; I'm guessing that Warcraft may not even be an active franchise by then (TEARS) but that's also freeing.

Let's face it: official Blizzard lore is convoluted. By setting stories in the future, all the weird retcons, time warps and faction switching can be ignored as little blips in the history books sort of like how many kids today don't even know what happened at Tiannemen Square. I'll write a journal entry musing abouy this soon, but basically I have a ton of stories set decades in the future and it does involve a *slightly* more peaceful Azeroth (until Sharimara lights things up) where many cities like Theramore and Auberdine are rebuilt.

Mr. Montanha lives outside an AU rebuilt Kel'theril. He's grumpy yet secretly lonely and wants to be around people but only when he feels like it. The problem is: he can cure cancer. People interrupt him almost daily, stopping by with various illnesses and injuries and he deals with the disturbances by sending them on stupid quests to keep them preoccupied in the meantime. It's a really mean thing to do when you think about it but if you can cure anything, then you make the rules.

The link for the voice pretty much explains his entire personality.

Pah, I'm sure if people constantly pestering me and using me for my amazing healing talents I'd be telling them to shove it. Not everyone has the patience to be the perfect, all-forgiving, selfless healer type. Good on you, Mr Montanha!

He sounds like a big softie inside that hard exterior, I like this NPC.
